When you apply to become a foster carer with Excel Fostering you will have access to our supportive and extensive training courses.
All prospective foster carers have the opportunity to attend the ‘Skills to Foster’ training course. This foundation course is based on a programme originally developed by the Fostering Network and helps to raise awareness about what is required as a foster carer.
This training course will be delivered in two-to-three sessions and will provide a understanding of your role, as well as teach you essential foster care skills including first aid and safer care. This fostering course is delivered with the help of experienced carers.
