Through our Skills to Foster programme, we will ensure you have an open and honest view of being a foster carer. This will give you the insight you need to make this life changing decision as you’ll get the opportunity to speak to foster carers and learn about their experiences.
Our highly trained team of experts will support you through the application and assessment process. You’ll have a dedicated, experienced supervising social worker who will work closely with you and will be on hand to answer any of your questions, provide you with the support you need and guide you through to Panel.
As you embark on your fostering journey, every step will be clearly explained. You will be told about the outcome of your Panel recommendation on the same day. You will have the chance to meet with the placements team who will get to know you and your aspirations as a foster carer as soon as you’re approved. They can then start to look for suitable placements.
As an approved foster carer, we will continue to be by your side. We’ll be there for you 24/7, 365 days a year to support you through every placement. We’ll ensure you receive the training and support when you need it and our local team will never be far away to help you through your new life as a foster carer.
